13th C. Gothic side chair when the seats of the lords’ chairs of honor had a cyclic polygonal shape. The panel in the narrow back of these chairs is elaborately carved with a trailing rose design and a small finial is used to decorate the top. The chair apron is shaped at the front and sides. The square back legs are extensions of the chair back and the front legs are turned. The rectangular spreader bars between the front legs and the back legs are honed in the middle with a matching spreader bar. The chair is in a walnut finish.
This is a very "Old World" look and very well excuted.
