Betty Valentine Arm Chair with Petit Point Cushion mc031624a

This chair is very special to me because Betty Valentine was a real pioneer in the miniature making world. 

This chair came to us from the Loveman estate. Mrs. Loveman was a collector here in Nashville who owned a clothing store. She loved the very best! She purchased a set of chairs.

This chair has not only a beautiful petit point seat cover but the carving of the ball feet is nothing short of amazing! 

This lovely chair is mahogany with a dark stain on it. I do not know who did the petit point but is very fine canvas and thread. 

This chair is vintage for sure. In this collection we have a total of five chairs by her and two of them have her signature mark of BSV on black paper. Mrs. Loveman removed those when she had the petit point cushions put on or reversed them so they are facing inside the bottom. I did not want to take them apart to see. I have found pictures of the chair on the web and am sure these are hers.
