This pretty petit point firescreen was made by Susan Richardson.
The needlwork is 4" by 4" of a reclining woman surrounded by flowers.A bee is being pursued by a bird as a dog leaps.
The colors are blues, pinks, and ivory.
There is a mat made of wood and painted blue to hold the petit point in place on the firescreen frame.
Susan was president of the Guild School for two years and worked on needlework with her mother.
She taught classes at the Guild School where students learned to reproduce designs by reducing the original work to its basic format and adding details as the scale permitted.
Students were taught to paint with thread.
She has been in Nutshell News, Miniature Collector, and has co-authored books on the subject.
