Lynn Whisenant and Joey Casey debuted this festive autumn piece at the Tom Bishop Show, where it quickly captured the attention of collectors and enthusiasts alike. They are now offering the project as an immersive three-day workshop, guiding participants through the creation of their own elegant miniature autumn entryway swag.
Rich with seasonal detail, the design features cascading fall foliage, twisting vines, ravens, pumpkins, and warmly illuminated jack-o-lanterns. Throughout the workshop, students will learn the techniques and finishing methods that bring these elements to life, resulting in a sophisticated miniature display that celebrates the beauty and whimsy of the autumn season.
Students will work from a comprehensive kit with all components prepared and ready to paint, age, assemble, mount, wire, and finish. Instruction will center on the advanced painting and finishing techniques developed by Whisenant and Casey, combining multiple mediums to create remarkably realistic autumn foliage, climbing vines, and pumpkins.
The class will also explore the principles of composition and arrangement, drawing upon Whisenant's decades of experience in floral design. Participants will learn how to balance visual elements, create natural movement within an arrangement, and position leaves and foliage to convincingly replicate the organic flow found in nature.
In addition, students will be guided through the installation and integration of LED lighting, learning techniques for illuminating and showcasing key decorative features while enhancing the overall atmosphere of the finished piece.
