This kit is made by artisan Renee' Derra.
From top of head to bottom of the chest plate is about 1 inch.
Her legs are about 1 inch long with painted shoes.
She makes a 3" to 3 1/2" china doll.
I usually make a pipe cleaner armature that I cover with small strips of panty hose. I fold a pipe cleaner in half and then glue the double piece of pipe cleaner inside her head. I then glue a pipe cleaner into one of the legs and measure how tall I want her and loop the pipe cleaner with the leg on one end through the head pipe cleaner. Measure and shape the pipe cleaners until she is the right height. The pipe cleaners can be cut or bended into the size you like. Next start building her shoulders if you don't have a body pattern. You want the head to be stuffed all inside and you want to keep adding strips of panty hose around the pipe cleaner until it looks like an upper torso. The glue an arm into a pipe cleaner and measure how long you want it to be. The legs and the arms are usually the same size. You will be able to bend her arms later. I build up the shape with strips until I am happy with her shape.Wrap some around the top of her legs and arms so you have something for the clothing to fit. After she dries she is ready to dress. You can reduce patterns for larger dolls using Microsoft Word. Just paste the pattern to a word document and click on the corner. You can push it in to make it smaller or pull it out to make it larger. If you are a good seamstress you don't have to have a pattern!
