Jean Nisbett has described John Hodgson as "The Master" in her book, the "Secrets of the Doll's House Makers" and his artistic talents have displayed themselves in the beautiful furniture he has created over the past 30 years. His love for antique furniture, and in particular chairs, introduced him to the business, when he created a miniature dining room display for his daughter. His furniture was seen publicly, and has consequently been much sought after.
His work appears in many exhibitions and museums around the world, but his major work in this country has been a ten year commission to create a permanent exhibition of period model houses and room settings from Mediaeval through to the Victorian period, for Hever Castle in Kent.
